New Living
Translation
4 Then Jesus
told them, “A prophet is honored everywhere except in his own hometown and
among his relatives and his own family.”
Jesus said that a prophet (in other words, a worker for God)
is never honored in his hometown. But that doesn’t make his work any less
important. A person doesn’t need to be respected or honored to be useful to
God. If friends, neighbors, or family don’t respect your Christian work, don’t
let their rejection keep you from serving God.
